Paramedic Services

Six Nations Paramedics provide 24/7 pre-hospital emergency medical care to Six Nations and the surrounding areas.  We also provide inter-facility transfers between hospitals and or facilities. Our staff include Advanced Care Paramedics and Primary Care Paramedics, all of who are IV therapy trained.  Our staff are expected to treat all patients with courtesy and respect and maintain confidentiality. Paramedic Services work cooperatively under the regulations of the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Ambulance Act, Coroner’s Act and strive to provide excellent care to our community.

Intake/Referral Process:

If you feel you need help for any reason – call 911.

Once you have contacted the dispatch location through 911 – your address is already on their screens and they are sending an ambulance to your location.  While they remain on the phone with you taking your information – help is on the way.

Program Description:

Community Paramedicine is a relatively new and evolving healthcare model. It is the act of utilizing our skills and expertise in a non-emergency setting.

Our paramedics have been trained to operate in expanded roles to work in collaboration with public health, primary healthcare providers and preventive services to the underserved at risk, and/or identified populations in the community. With the goal of keeping patients in their home comfortably, allowing them to participate in their care.

Services Offered:

In home supports and referrals, follow up care & wellness checks, assessments & vitals; ECG, HR, BP, O2 saturation, body weight monitoring (fluid retention), Blood glucose monitoring. Remote Patient Monitoring. In home labs; Bloodwork, Urinalysis. Fluid therapy, Immunizations
